Backups. A necessary evil?Backups: Seems like a necessary evil until the day we need it and then it becomes our savior and best friend. I use the word "until" because you WILL face a hardware failure at one point or another because all things mechanical will fail over time for various reasons.
There are many ways to backup your data and there are many times you can do this. You need to examine your environment to determine the best method with the least amount of risk that you are willing to take.
I use the word "risk" because that is what you are facing immediately after a backup occurs until the next time of your backup. The time between backups is your risk factor and it is up to ...

Clean up your PCby Bben46
Many problems I see are related to overheating. Such as CTDs, video artifacts, sudden freeze which may or may not recover (not stuttering which is a very short pause)
The design of the PC contributes to this by sucking in dirty air through every small crevice in the case and depositing the dust on everything, especially fans.
To clean the pc, first power it off and UNPLUG it. There is power on your motherboard (5 volts)even when the power is switched off and a mistake can fry your motherboard and Power supply.
Most newer tower type PCs have a removable side, the left side when looking at the case from the front. Usually there are anywhere from one to three screws th ...

What is this article about? This article is inspired by Lhammonds' "How to Convert Images" section on his OBMM How-to site. As such, it can be seen as a niche extension of the information contained therein. This article will include simple written and visual guided steps on how to save your images in a good compressed state when you utilise your preferred commercial or free image editing software. More importantly, it seeks to inform you on the points and advantages of familiarising yourself with this "web-friendly" practice. Of note, it also contains a very small statistical research on TESNexus' imageshare section relevant to the topic.
Who should read it?
In essence, this article is unique in that ...

In order to enjoy Oblivion, your PC needs to be in top condition and that means keeping bad programs away from it. Here are some tips:1. Use a web browser other than Microsoft Internet Explorer. I am not going into the "who is more secure" debate because hackers target whoever is "on top" and that is the IE browser. I personally use Firefox because I am a web developer and really like the custom extensions available.
2. Use a hardware firewall if you can afford one.
3. Even if you have a hardware firewall, use a software firewall. (use only one)
- Comodo Firewall Pro (FREE no restrictions)
- ZoneAlarm Firewall (FREE for home use)
- Windows Firewall (FREE, comes with ...
