Hello everyone

As of 23 May 2009 15:40 (GMT+2), this article's contents have been moved to a seperate website, where I can more easily update and format the information (it is much easier to update one website than it is to update a number of articles and topics). I hope everyone can bear with me on this. I am sure that the new website will make the information much easier to access than this article.

Anyway, the new location of this information is: http://preventcrashesinoblivion.page.tl/ ...

Backing up Oblivion
by Bben46
Edited 11/15/09 - added paths for Vista/Win7

Backing up does not involve some arcane process involving multiple floppies or CDs, Nor a tape drive and

special software only useable by a geek. It is just a spare copy of important stuff that you keep in a

different location for 'emergencies'.

That different location does not have to be any more than another folder on the same hard drive. Or it can be

a folder on a different hard drive, on a USB stick or a CD.

First you will need a place to put your backup. This article assumes the simplest computer system, one with

only one hard drive, the C:\ drive – where you will place yo ...

I was having trouble with my console window. I'm using windows XP Pro. When I would bring up the console I would only see the tale end of the text. Like it was shifted off the southwest of my screen. I found a fix the worked and it was simple.

1) open My Documents\My Games\Fallout 3

2) open the Fallout.ini file and scroll down to the [Menu]

3) Change iConsoleTextXPos=30 to iConsoleTextXPos=230 and save.

Restart the game and try your console menu again.
(It's the ~ key on the upper left of your keyboard)

Good luck

I had this question myself, awhile back, and LHammonds gave me the answer. I thought I would post this here as a tutorial that can be easily linked to, if others need help with this in the future. I have created some screenshots here as a visual aid.

You must use NifSkope to make this change. There is no way to export a double-sided mesh from Blender (unless there was a very recent change).

1. Open NifSkope and the NIF

2. Right-click on the NiTriStrip/Shape that needs to be double-sided.
3. Node --> Attach Property --> NiStencilProperty

4. With the latest version of NifSkope, the "Draw Mode" property will be set to "DRAW_BOTH" and if not, you need to change it to tha ...

Since I hear the complaint that you cannot find any good armor or clothing for male characters among all the eyecandy nudie mods, I thought I would go through and find a bunch of them for you, to prove that all you have to do is Know How To Look for things.

Some things I included from other sites, but most are available right here, at the good ol' Nexus.

All Linked Armors and Clothes are "SAFE For Work" and DO contain Male Versions, even if you do not see them in the pictures.

Lera and Pizz Hiyoko Store
Leras_Clothes_for_Men
300_Brocade Clothes
Battlemage_Armory
Apachii Heroes Store

Vista Problems
By Bben46

You MUST be signed on as an Administrator to do any of this.

If you have downloaded and installed a mod, and the mod is appearing in your Data Files List, but not in your game And you are running Vista, you have run into a security feature of Vista called User Account Control. Or more simply, UAC.

Quoted from the Oblivion Mods FAQ WIKI

Alternate Install Directory
If you install your Elder Scrolls game into any directory OTHER than the default, none of these problems occur. Thus, you can bypass the Vista security issues by installing the game onto another hard drive or into a new directory that is not located within the "Program Files" root directory ...
